My Brothers, A Word Before Ramadan: Lend Your Wife a Hand

Assalamu Alaikum.

Ramadan starts tomorrow, 1st March 2025, and we’re all gearing up for fasting, prayer, and seeking Allah’s mercy. But before we dive in, let’s talk straight — our sisters, wives, and mothers are fasting too. They’re hit with the same hunger and tiredness we feel, yet too often, they’re the ones knackered in the kitchen, sorting iftar while we kick back for the adhan.

That’s not on, brothers. They’re not just there to cook — they want to pray, read Qur’an, and chase Allah’s blessings like we do. Ramadan isn’t about piling it all on them; it’s about sharing the weight. I’ve slacked before, I’ll own that, but this time, I’m changing it. I’ll help my wife chop veg, set the table for my mum — small stuff that matters. They’re fasting too — why should they do it alone?

This is what Ramadan’s about — it fixes what we’ve let slide these past 11 months. We’ve left them carrying too much and now’s our chance to step up. Support your sister, lighten your mum’s load, give your wife a breather. It’s not just about iftar — it’s about pleasing Allah together. Let’s make this a month of proper brotherhood, lifting each other up.

Ramadan Mubarak, brothers — let’s get it right from the start. God bless you guys! Salam. 😊
