You Still Have Time to Make 2026 Count

There is something about the final months of the year that makes us look back at the promises we made to ourselves. At the beginning of 2026, perhaps you promised to become healthier, strengthen your relationship with Allah, build a business, improve your finances, learn a new skill or finally do something you had been putting off for years. Yet here we are, approaching the final stretch of the year and perhaps you are nowhere near where you thought you would be.

Before you start calling 2026 a wasted year, stop for a moment. You still have time.

We often make the mistake of treating the beginning of a new year as the only appropriate time to start again. We tell ourselves that January will be different, that next year we will be more disciplined, more committed and more serious about our goals. But why wait for a new calendar when you can make a new decision today?

You still have approximately 80 days before 2027 begins. Eighty days of waking up with purpose, making better decisions, learning, working and getting closer to the person you want to become. You may not achieve everything you originally planned but you can certainly achieve more than you will by giving up now.

Remember, anything of real value requires something from you. Building a career takes commitment. Strengthening your body takes consistency. Developing your character takes patience. Growing closer to Allah requires sincerity and effort. Meaningful achievements rarely arrive simply because we want them. They require time, sacrifice, hard work and dedication.

And through it all, we place our trust in Allah. Tawakkul does not mean sitting back and waiting for things to happen. It means taking the necessary steps, doing your best and trusting Allah with what lies beyond your control.

Perhaps you have fallen behind because life became difficult. Perhaps you lost motivation, made mistakes or spent too much time worrying about things you could not change. Whatever happened, learn from it without allowing it to define the rest of your year.

You do not need to have everything figured out before you begin again. You only need to take the next right step.

So, do not say, “I have ruined this year. I will try again in 2027.” No. Start today. Make that phone call, open that book, submit that application, return to your routine or take the first step towards the goal you abandoned.

Begin with Bismillah. Say, “Tawakkaltu alallah,” meaning, “I put my trust in Allah.”

You cannot change the months that have passed but you can decide what you will do with the days that remain. Let 2026 end with evidence that you did not give up on yourself.

You still have time. Make these days count.
